A SERVICE OF HOLY COMMUNION: There will be a service of Holy Communion, in Iden Parish Church, this Sunday, at 9.30am.
FINISHING TOUCHES: Oh joy of joys, we are having a new bathroom, something modern and streamlined, so my job is to select the bits and bobs, and finishing touches. Whenever we have decorating done, I’m practically lined up behind the door with my pictures and mirrors and pot plants. It’s a little unnerving for the decorator, who is usually still up a ladder. I’m already thinking smallish, greyish statues, something mysterious and ethereal to go with slate grey towels. A bust or two of some shadowy figures, historic or angelic, is what I have in mind, anything in fact to detract from the mundane ritual of morning and evening ablutions. I’ve worn out so much shoe leather over the years searching for finishing touches, but finding just the right picture or ornament, something which gladdens the heart, is as important as the paint and the plaster, and almost as tiring!
