Sussex Police were out in force this morning (October 22) responding to a firearm incident in Worthing.
A spokesman for the force said officers responded to reports of a man in possession of a firearm in Turner Road, Broadwater, at around 8.13am.
An eyewitness reported a 'huge police presence' around Turner and Claremont Road, with diversions in place around the sealed off road.

Hide AdThe area was contained and a man was safely arrested and is engaging with officers, police said. An air rifle was recovered.
"We’d like to reassure the public this was an isolated incident, with no risk to the wider community," the spokesman added.
