SIDLEY SUCCUMB TO WILY SPINNER JONES
Unlike the front side, it was Preston who took to the crease first and lost their first wicket in the opening over.

Hide AdPhil Standen (54) was able to build an impressive total with support from P. Hird (13) and N. Miller (17) before Pat Grace stormed through the tail to finish with figures of 5-79 off 16 overs. He was ably supported by Simon Calver (3-41).
An early loss set the standard for the Sidley reply. Kevin Deeprose (18) and Grace (17) managed to delay the inevitable but Sidley lost their last eight wickets for a pathetic 20 runs as they had no answer to the wily spin of Ian Jones (5-18) and accuracy of Phil Standen (2-3).
