Runners take off at 30th Brighton Half Marathon
Winner of the very first race in 1990, David Knight, saw the runners off on their journey and officially started the half this morning with a klaxon.
Wheelchair races took place earlier in the morning and prizes will be presented at 11.15am.

Hide AdElite runners are expected back at 10.30am and crowds will gather to see if 2019 winner and course record holder Paul Navesey can maintain his title - he ran last year’s marathon in a mere 1:04:56.
Prizes will be presented to elite runners at 11.30am.
The major event is sponsored by The Grand Hotel and raises nearly £1 million for local causes every year including The Sussex Beacon, which organises the event.
Update: It was previously reported that 12,000 runners took part but organisers have confirmed that around 8,000 ran the half marathon.
