Hickstead 2006 unaffiliated dressage championships
Around 80 of the top points winning horse and rider combinations from Dressage at Hickstead competitions, who had qualified at events during the earlier part of the year, competed in the final ride-off.
The competitors, from the South-East area, were making the trip to contest the Championship titles for each of the five dressage classes, at Preliminary, Novice, Elementary, Medium and Advanced Medium levels.

Hide AdGenerously sponsored throughout the season by Falcon Equestrian who provided prizes and expert advice on feeds and supplements, the championships provide a real test of horse and rider skills for those that wish to compete for the enjoyment of their sport, and for those seeking experience or bringing on horses to compete at higher levels in the future.
Olivia White and Pina Colada (Preliminary); Louise Robinson and Justice (Novice); Maureen Carroll and Mali (Elementary); Karen Allsop and Ossip's Smart Man (Medium); and Melissa Beer and Windspiel (Advanced Medium) all emerged with championship titles.
"We had an exceptionally high quality of horse and rider combinations", said Dane Rawlins. "What was particularly pleasing was to see the number of young riders taking part and offering a real challenge to those with that bit more experience".
