Hide AdBromley dominated the early stages but it was the hosts who opened the scoring midway through the first half courtesy of a fine chipped finish from Bradley Goldberg.
Hakeem Araba got the South Londoners back on level terms on the half hour from the penalty spot before Aaron Rhule fired them in front 10 minutes into the second half.
Joe Winchester started in goal for the U’s after Matt Armstrong-Ford injured his knee in the warm-up. Tom Vickers also played alongside former United midfielder Anthony Storey.
