Brighton all but secured their Premier League safety with four matches still to play following their commanding 2-0 victory against Leeds last Saturday.
Potter's men have played some decent football this campaign and would likely be far higher up the table had Albion taken more of the chances the team have created.
The former Swansea manager remains in the running for the Spurs job, with Danny Murphy stating earlier this week that Potter could have a smilar impact to that of Mauricio Pochettino when he arrived in North London from Southampton.
