Bexhill retain Sussex cricket status
Any side finishing bottom of Division Two, as Bexhill did during the summer, automatically has to re-apply for the following season. Their re-instatement is usually unopposed but with East Sussex League champions Glynde & Beddingham seeking promotion a vote was held on Tuesday night.
Although the specific result was undisclosed, Glynde failed to get the two-thirds majority they required.

We've been members of the league since 1978 and there's no reason for us not to get in. We've got good facilities, a good youth set-up, no financial problems and we've never given the league any disciplinary problems."
Bexhill will actually host neighbours Sidley in the opening match of 2005 on April 30 following the release of the provisional fixture list this week.
