Worthing mayor will wear his poppy his pride
THE mayor of Worthing Bob Smytherman has spoken of why he will be wearing a poppy with pride this Remembrance Sunday.
Mr Smytherman said: “As Mayor of Worthing I will be wearing my poppy with pride to remember all those who have, or are recovering from, a mental health condition as a result of serving in the services, as during my year I have been championing the issue of mental health.
“I will lead Remembrance Sunday service with huge pride and I would urge the whole town to join me either in person or from their hearts.
“Our local British Legion work tirelessly for the Poppy Appeal every year and I will certainly wear my poppy with huge pride.”
