This is how to get involved with Crawley’s VJ Day commemorations

On Saturday August 15 Crawley Borough Council is inviting peaple to commemorate VJ Day online.
August 15 1945 was VJ Day, marking both the surrender of Japan and the end of the Second World War. This day was and still is a very important day for many as it marked the day where peace was found after six years of war.

Hide AdThe virtual event will take place on the council’s Facebook page at facebook.com/crawleycouncil from 6am on Saturday. Use the hashtag #NeverForgotten to get involved.
Events, images, lots of commemorative content from the Royal British Legion and a video from the Mayor of Crawley, Councillor Francis Guidera will mark this anniversary and show how we can remember our armed forces veterans.
Councillor Guidera, said: “VJ Day offers us the chance to thank our World War II veterans and remember the sacrifices they made for us all those years ago.”
