As a result, both Hastings and Bexhill’s coastguard rescue teams said they are expecting a busy bank holiday weekend.

Hide AdA spokesman said: “If you are planning on visiting the coast, remember to check tide times and weather forecasts, obey any warning flags that are being displayed and please do not park where you may block access points. Blocked access and inconsiderately parked vehicles cost us vital minutes responding to emergencies.”
Hastings Coastguard said they were hoping to avoid a repeat of last summer when rescue teams found many access points and access roads blocked, which had a major impact on response times in an emergency.
The rescue teams said they will be working alongside colleagues in neighbouring stations to provide ‘high-visibility patrols’ and to assist partner agencies in keeping people safe.
If you see someone in difficulty at sea or on the coast, dial 999 and ask for the coastguard.
