In his 30 years in the hospitality training industry, John Hyde has overseen the learning of 200,000 apprentices and worked with some of the top hotels in the country.

So perhaps he will consider booking into one to celebrate after being recognised in The Queen’s 90th birthday honours list.

Mr Hyde, who is from Shoreham and whose company Hospitality Industry Training is also based there, has been made a commander of the Order of the British Empire for services in the further education and training sectors.
