Burwash

Postcard from Canada: This is my final message from Canada. By the time you read this I will be back in England and with my lovely husband & son. My two months here helping and supporting my cousin Gail has just flown by. I have met yet more members of the very large family out here and caught up with others. Last Saturday Gail had a pot luck supper and so many of them came to say goodbye. They all signed a card with lovely words of how much they miss me and come back soon. My Aunt Mary, who will be 94 in November is just amazing, while I have been here she has bought herself a new Ipad and mobile telephone. I will miss her, she is just amazing for her age. The autumn is fast approaching here as the leaves turn an incredible red, but already they have had frost and it has turned really chilly. So I guess it is time for me to leave and get back into my normal busy life. Thank you Gail for you love and generosity, you are one special lady and i an really sad to leave. Thank you Canada for treating me so well.

Memorial Dedication: Today there is to be a rededication of WW2 pilot Reginald Rimmer who was shot down near Spring Lane Burwash. A new memorial stone has been placed in the lane to Franchise Manor for this brave young man from Liverpool. Some of his family will attend the rededication ceremony. To discover the time please see the September parish magazine for St Bartholomew’s .

Coffee mornings: Burwash is holding two coffee mornings in aid of MacMillan Nurses. The first one is being hosted by the Buzzy Bees Pre-school today at 10am in the Pavilion at the Swan meadow Playing field, Ham lane, Burwash. They will be pleased to see you as they sell cakes, books & bric a brac while you meet friends and drink coffee. The second one is tomorrow morning at the Scout Hut in the Bear Car Park from 10am to 12.30pm. This one is being hosted by sisters Jazz & Heather, their husbands and friends. Again, cakes bric a brac, tombola raffle & gifts will be on sale. Do go along and support one of these events so that everyone who is facing cancer can have a MacMillan team in their corner.
