Arun’s new chairman pledges to back family support charity

EAST Preston councillor Terence Chapman is the new chairman of Arun District Council.

He was elected at a full meeting of the council last Wednesday (May 22), succeeding Ann Smee, who was given a vote of thanks by councillors and congratulated on a successful year in office, including raising £10,000 for her chosen charities.

Terence, 65, joined the council in 2007, as Conservative member for the East Preston and Kingston ward.

Married for 22 years to Anne, he has five children and was a corporate manager for BT before retiring.
