Ahoy, pirate day marked by wine
A spokesperson for Ambriel Sussex that specialises in sparkling wine said: “Avast me hearties. Ambriel Blanc de Noirs will be launched on International Talk Like a Pirate Day. Yo ho ho, it’s a bottle of yum.”
The press-gang at Ambriel have created an English sparkling wine made from Pinot Noir grapes ripened on the sunny south-facing slopes of Sussex.

“The initial sip is of fresh lime and ripe peach, makes way for honeycomb and warmed brioche. It has a lively mousse and a limber finish.”
The company produces its own wine in a traditional method at Redfold Vineyards in Nutbourne Lane, Nutbourne, near Pulborough.
Talk Like a Pirate Day started out as a silly idea celebrated by a handful of friends, but has gradually become an international phenomenon, and Ambriel are joining in on the fun.

“Matey, once the sun is over the yardarm, splice the mainbrace and get Roger jolly. There’s never been a better way to walk the plonk,” the spokesperson added.
